There are two colors on PPR pipes, which are red and blue. The national standard stipulates that the color strip of red or blue on PPR pipe should not be less than 2. PPR tube is divided into cold water pipe and hot water pipe. The difference is that there is blue mark line on the cold water pipe, and the hot water pipe is red.
The blue strip of PPR, relative to the wall thickness of the pipe is small, its long-term pressure strength at high temperatures to be smaller. The red strip of PPR means the wall thickness of the pipe is large. By the same token, its long-term pressure strength at high temperatures is higher.
In the national standard, the blue bar of PPR pipe, the maximum nominal pressure is 16 kg pressure, this nominal pressure is not burst pressure, refers to the long-term in 20 degrees can be used in the average stress of 50 years.
PPR pipe with red stripes has a maximum nominal pressure of 25 kg pressure. In other words, the PPR with a red strip is relatively more pressure-resistant than the PPR pipe with a blue strip.
1、If it is used in the heating connection pipe or water heater connection pipe, regardless of the pressure, you must use the red strip.
2、If it is used for normal temperature pipe on ordinary tap water, if the long-term pressure of the system does not exceed 16 kg, you can use PPR with blue strip; if the long-term pressure of the system exceeds 16 kg, you should also use PPR with red strip.
